File Under: Music

What's up?
Ok, today I'm gonna show you what I'm looking forward to in the comming months with regards to music.
First, a definition:
Progressive Rock:"an ambitious, eclectic, and often grandiose style of rock music which arose in the late 1960s principally in England, reaching the peak of its popularity in the early 1970s, but continuing as a musical form to this day. Progressive rock was largely a European movement, and drew most of its influences from classical music and jazz fusion, in contrast to American rock, which was influenced by rhythm & blues and country, although there are notable exceptions in the New World such as Kansas and Rush — considered by many to be the finest examples of the form. Over the years various sub-genres of progressive rock have emerged, such as symphonic rock, art rock and progressive metal.

that's the one were looking at today.

Dream Theater
Dream Theater just finished up their 20th anniversary tour, ending with a show at Radio City Music Hall, in New York City. They performed a hour and a half of songs from their career, followed by an intermission, at which time they were accompanied by a 20 piece orchestra. This show was filmed for a DVD and is expected to be released this comming fall.

Gigantour
Last year, Dave Mustane(of Megadeth) organized one of the biggest tour events of the summer when he announced "Gigantour". Featuring Co-headliners Megadeth and Dream Theater, and featuring bands such as Nevermore and Anthrax
A DVD release is expected this comming fall.

Symphony X
Symphony X, also featured on the Gigantour, are putting finishing touches on their latest album, a follow up to last years "The Odyseey". little is known, but release is expected by the end of the summer, followed by a tour.

And thats whats comming down the Pipeline.
